چکیده

We investigate the problem of constructing the maximal number of node disjoint paths between two distinct nodes in Swapped/OTIS networks. A general construction of node disjoint paths in any OTIS network with a connected basis network is presented, which is independent of any construction of node disjoint paths in its basis network. This general construction is effective and efficient, which can obtain desirable node disjoint paths of length at most D+4 in O(Δ+Δf(N)) time if the basis network of size n has a shortest routing algorithm of time complexity O(f(n)), where D, Δ and N are, respectively, the diameter, the degree and the size of the OTIS network. Further, for OTIS networks with maximally fault tolerant basis networks, we give an improved version of a conventional construction of node disjoint paths by incorporating the above general construction. Finally, we show the effectiveness and efficiency of these constructions applied to OTIS-Hypercubes.

Multipath Node-Disjoint Routing with Backup List Based on the AODV Protocol

In recent years, routing has been the most focused area in ad hoc networks research. On-demand routing in particular, is widely developed in bandwidth constrained mobile wireless ad hoc networks because of its effectiveness and efficiency. Most proposed on-demand routing protocols are built and relied on single route for each data session. Whenever there is a link disconnection on the active ro...

Nearly Optimal Node-to-Set Parallel Routing in OTIS Networks

The node-to-set parallel routing problem for a k-connected network Γ is as follows: given a node s and k other nodes {t 1 , t 2 , ... , t k } in Γ, find k node-disjoint paths connecting s and t i , for 1 ≤ i ≤ k. From the viewpoint of applications in synthesizing fast and resilient collective communication operations, it is desirable to make the parallel paths as short as possible. Building suc...

Biswapped networks: a family of interconnection architectures with advantages over swapped or OTIS networks

In this paper, we propose a new family of communication architectures, called “biswapped networks” (BSNs). Each BSN is built of 2n copies of some n-node basis network using a simple rule for connectivity that ensures its regularity, modularity, fault tolerance, and algorithmic efficiency. In particular, if the basis network is a Cayley digraph then so is the resulting BSN. Our biswapped connect...

An Algorithm for Node-Disjoint Paths in Pancake Graphs

For any pair of distinct nodes in an n-pancake graph, we give an algorithm for construction of n − 1 internally disjoint paths connecting the nodes in the time complexity of polynomial order of n. The length of each path obtained and the time complexity of the algorithm are estimated theoretically and verified by computer simulation. key words: pancake graphs, node-to-node disjoint paths proble...

The Feedback Based Mechanism for Video Streaming Over Multipath Ad Hoc Networks

Ad hoc networks are multi-hop wireless networks without a pre-installed infrastructure. Such networks are widely used in military applications and in emergency situations as they permit the establishment of a communication network at very short notice with a very low cost. Video is very sensitive for packet loss and wireless ad-hoc networks are error prone due to node mobility and weak links. H...
